The
restaurant "All'Incontro" consists of two rooms united by
an arch, a terra cotta floor, vaults in form of a cross
with bricks, the old background of an antique wine shop,
restructured and modernized only as far as necessary in
order to keep it comfortable in every season.
The kitchen is always well treated and rigorous, but also
original, and able to pass with all ease from very rapid,
simple and customary dishes to more refined dishes, which
are based on old traditions.
The restaurant is above all characterized by its attentive
care in choosing the ingredients; especially the fish is
chosen daily at the "fishers of confidence".
After the hors d'oeuvres you can e.g. enjoy the following
dishes: risotto perfectly cooked, different typical regional
or sailor's dishes but also original creations like "spaghetti
alla chitarra" with "batti-batti" (a small and quite rare
home-grown kind of lobster), "chicche" with prawns and asparagus,
during the right season "caramelle di anatra" with sable's
sausage and green pepper, etc.
Also the main courses vary according to the season and the
products' availability; you can enjoy e.g. the following
dishes: fillets and chops prepared in different ways, duck's
chest, and on certain evenings, a big portion of mixed stew
with a lot of different sauces, special meat types like
e.g. kangaroo, bison and ostrich, but also dishes for a
special occasion like e.g. an excellent "rabbit all'ischitana",
etc.
The fish dishes include grilled fish, fish prepared in the
oven with Mediterranean aroma, "guazzetti", as well as tasty
soups.
Not only the most prestigious dishes (excellent and often
rare crustaceans, like e.g. "granseole" during the season
and delicious "coquillages") are prepared with the greatest
attention, but also the dishes based on less ordinary fish
("scorfano", "ricciola", moray or the unforgettable local
suggestions like anchovies and potatoes). Moreover, don't
forget about the mushrooms from the Apennines, and the truffle
from Alba, which we offer during the season, and which are
prepared in a way to underline their flavor and taste even
more.
